I love this one! I have a wardrobe of guns and this one is great to shoot. VEry smooth and big boom! I bought it as a door gun when I travel. Lots of bullets in the mags. Never a jam or a problem right out of the box! Probably have shot 200 or more rounds through it with no problems. My uncle is a retired cop and he has one that he carries. He always said you can trust an S&W.

Just brought this gun home yesterday and fired 50 rounds of blazer ammo through it, this is my first handgun and I was pleased, the trigger is a bit tight like everyone says but I can live with it, I''m sure over time it will weaken and I will adjust to it. As far as finish goes I like it, love the feel in my hands and I have never field stripped a gun before but this thing was a piece of cake to disassemble clean and reassemble. The price is what caught my attention, $350, and also the brand name and the fact that I either got 2 more clips or a $50 rebate was icing on the cake, if anyone asked whether or not to buy one i''d say go for it, the pro''s outweigh the con''s.

S&W 40 VE Sigma better once broken-in

When I first bought my S&W 40 Sigma, I hated it. The hard trigger pull was throwing off my aim. In addition, I was anticipating the recoil which caused me to flinch, resulting in a few jams.
For the past few months, I have been going to the range almost weekly, and putting 100+ rounds through it each time. It seems that the trigger is breaking in, and I am getting better control. Now, I like this pistol and am doing very well with it. Last week, at 30 feet my grouping was within 2.
The only issue I have had lately, is that one of the magazines stopped feeding the last bullet properly. The gun was popping open when there was still one bullet left. After taking the mag apart, cleaning it, and stretching the spring a little, I tried it again. The first few tries, I still had the problem, but now the mag is working properly.
In the end, since there have been a few issues in the past I would not rely on this as my only defense. My revolvers are much more dependable. But, this is a good backup and it is fun to shoot it just takes a little time to get used to it.
